dutch kimchi is an Amsterdam based creative studio owned and art directed by Annemiek Hye Jung van Wees.

Annemiek is born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in country side of the the Netherlands. She discovered at a very young age her love for decorating anything she could get her hands on and encouraged by her parents she developed a great appreciation for arts & crafts. She studied arts and design at The Design Academy in Eindhoven and at the Rietveld Academy for fine arts in Amsterdam.

Annemiek has a broad experience in designing consumer & lifestyle goods for highly artistic purposes as well for commercial retailers and brands in China and EU. She has over 15 years of experience working with local suppliers in the far east and worked in various Asian countries and lived and worked in Shanghai.

Specialised in design, trends and concepts for fashion accessories and interior decoration, she also gained an extensive experience and love for making graphic prints & illustrations. The wide scope of design-experience makes her a true all rounder. Her versatile creative talents and her practical know how of the complete process of range development is much appreciated by her clients.
